Your Name is Safe in Our Home

I had a friend in college who had a sign posted by the front door that said, "Your name is safe in our home."

That's something I want to put in my house.  What a great reminder to me and my family members to speak kindly and gently of others.  What a great message to communicate to our guests--that when they leave, we aren't going to gossip about them or laugh at them.

I simply love that idea.

Now I need to figure out the easiest, least expensive, most compact way to put this up.   Suggestions?

  1. Easy? Cheapest? Compact? Ha, April! Is there a such thing as all three?? I love that :)

A decoupaged print on a wood plaque from Michael's would probably be cheapest.

But not easy or less time consuming. I'm having a custom sign made here of "Try a little harder to be a little Better" : http://www.realwoodcreations.biz/custom.html. I thought for a custom design, they were pretty reasonable.

And I love the reminder your new saying brings. We could all use a little of that especially among siblings as they head out the door each day!

  2. My friend Rachel has a vinyl business. You could make it any size you want (from wood/tile plaque to wall sized), any font, and any color from those she has available. She's at http://vinylchitchat.com

  3. You could print it out in a lovely-looking font on a cool-looking piece of card stock and frame it in a small dollar-store frame.

I LOVE the saying! I may just put it up in my home as well. Thank you for sharing! :-)

  4. I totally love that saying too! I think a wood plaque above the front door would be cool. You could burn it in the wood and than varnish it. What a wonderful gift to give to all your guests!! Love this idea!

  5. I really love that saying April!! If you were my neighbour I'd print you a vinyl copy and drop it off for you today:)! You'll have to pop on over to my place and pick it up instead. Let's say in November.....or March :) :) :) :)

  6. Thanks everyone! I'm going to explore my options and get it up. I keep envisioning it on my wall, and that thought makes me happy. Felicity, you're so funny. I can't wait to meet you!
